Founded to promote, encourage, and foster the sport of bowhunting, the IBO runs 3D archery tournaments built around real hunting skills, where archers judge unmarked distances and shoot at lifelike foam animal targets. It hosts the annual IBO World Championship along with traditional and youth divisions, and supports a nationwide network of affiliated clubs and state representatives.

A program of the Archery Trade Association, Bowhunters United works to protect bowhunting opportunities, defend hunting access at the national and state level, and grow participation in the sport. Membership is free and includes tactics and gear articles, industry news, and legislative action alerts that keep bowhunters informed on the issues affecting their right to hunt.

The first step in our commitment to the hunting community is promoting accurate, ethical shooting. As sportsmen, we should all strive for clean shots and clean harvests. Shooting events keep us sharp in the off season and build relationships with other knowledgeable hunters.

A Voice in Wildlife Management
The WSAA Hunting Liaison holds a seat on the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife's (WDFW) Game Management Advisory Council (GMAC) — a diverse group of sportsmen who advise WDFW and its commissioners on issues like season setting, equipment changes, and wildlife-human conflict.

Our Hunting Liaison and Hunting Committee track issues affecting archers and hunters statewide. Our goal is to be a source of information, direction, and calls to action in defense of our sport.

Conservation Partnership
WSAA is a member of Washingtonians for Wildlife Conservation, a coalition of sportsmen's groups working together to advance scientific wildlife management and protect the rights of Washington's conservationists, sportsmen, and sportswomen.

A WDFW-approved online bowhunter safety course covering shot placement, tracking, ethics, and safe equipment handling. Washington does not currently require this to hunt in-state, but the certification is accepted in states that do. The online course is paired with an in-person field day.
